Passing a Bill

2/13/2018

Picture
The full House has passed the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative Extension Act (HB 230), which I authored.  The Senate version of the bill has also passed that body.  This is major progress for a bill this early in the legislative session.  There is still work to do, but this is good news for legislation that will ensure Maryland remains in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, our regional cap and trade program for power plants.
As always, you can always keep up with what I am doing by following me at @mkorman on Twitter or clicking "Like" on Delegate Marc Korman on Facebook.

Legislative News

As the legislative session continues, more of our work is on the House floor where we can amend and take final votes on bills.  You can see the daily floor schedule here.  When a House bill is on "second reader," it is subject to amendment.  When a House bill is on "third reader," it is subject to debate and a vote on final passage.  As you will see, the calendars are primarily organized by committee.
